Why we exist
Too many LGBTQ+ patients around the country are confronted with shamefully limited options when seeking competent and compassionate medical care. Too often, obtaining care can be daunting, nerve‑racking, expensive, and time‑consuming. After struggling to set aside the time or build up the energy and courage to pursue what’s needed, some are confronted with rejection or find themselves in the uncomfortable situation of needing to teach their provider how to properly provide the appropriate care. Long drives may be required, and busy schedules can make it very difficult to get care and maintain it. Gamut health was founded as a telehealth clinic to help break down these barriers and improve access regardless of who you are or where you’re from. We strongly believe a rural location, limited time, and/or limited finances should not keep you from getting the care you deserve.

Clinical Director
I am a licensed family practice nurse practitioner (FNP) with prescriptive authority certified as a gender‐affirming care provider with the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and as an HIV specialist with the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM). I received my Master of Science in Nursing from Indiana University South Bend (IUSB), where I piloted the incorporation of transgender and gender diverse healthcare into the curriculum for nurse practitioners. This education was then rolled out to the undergraduate nursing curriculum as well. In 2017, I presented on gender‐affirming care at the Sigma Theta Tau International Conference in Indianapolis. Before moving out west, I was honored to work with Mosaic Health and Healing Arts, Indiana’s first family medicine practice to be openly accepting of LGBTQ+ patients. Prior to launching gamut health, I worked with the Transgender Health Program of St. John’s Well Child and Family Center, one of the largest FQHCs in California.

It is an honor to put my years of management and marketing experience to work for gamut health. Growing up I never felt like I fit the mold that was set out before me. I didn’t spend much time defining the difference for myself and simply chalked up those differences as logical outcomes of being a free-spirited rebel who challenged whatever “norms” existed as fabricated and hollow attempts to categorize and control. I spent years feeling an immense sense of imposter syndrome that reverberated into my personal and professional life. I carved my own lane but defining that lane as something “other” was something I was adamantly opposed to. I argued this was because of my predisposed contention toward categories altogether. Which may be true in part, but ultimately It was my fear of the possibility of rejection from multiple communities that I felt wouldn’t exist if I continued living in ambiguity. If there is anything I’ve learned from years of direct marketing, it is this: If you don’t open yourself up enough for the possibility of rejection, you will never position yourself in a place to be truly accepted. I am thrilled to be able to work behind the scenes with gamut health creating a space that empowers people to accept, embrace, and embody who they are in the unfettered brilliance the world outside needs.
